Last updated 12/8/2021

All people ages 5 and older are now eligible to get a safe, effective and no-cost COVID-19 vaccine.

People can get vaccinated through County and State-run sites, pharmacies and other healthcare systems. This page has information about how you can get vaccinated through different vaccine providers.

Booster Shots

Many people ages 18 and older are now eligible to get a COVID-19 booster for maximum protection against the virus. You can contact your healthcare provider or local pharmacy for a booster dose. Appointments through Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) are recommended and can be made online or by phone at 1-833-829-2626, Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. People without appointments are accepted as time and vaccine supply allows.

People may choose any of the three available COVID-19 vaccines for their booster dose , regardless of the vaccine they previously received.

Pfizer and Moderna

Booster shots are available to people ages 18 or older at least six months after their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

People with qualifying immunocompromised conditions may also get a third dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least 28 days after their second dose. If you’re not sure if you qualify, please talk to your healthcare provider.

Johnson & Johnson

Booster shots are available to all people 18 or older two months after their first dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS)

All people ages 5 and older can get vaccinated at a CCHS site even if they do not live or work in Contra Costa County. Children ages 11 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent or adult. If the parent/legal guardian cannot come with their child, they can provide written consent for the vaccination.
