Volunteer Opportunities -

COVID-19 Response

We are currently accepting volunteers for vaccinators and contact tracers. Before proceeding, please read the Contra Costa County Mandatory Vaccine Policy

 

If you meet the requirements below, please complete the Volunteer Interest Form. The full application and training process may take up to two weeks.

Volunteer Vaccinator

Under direct supervision of Public Health Nurse Program Managers, Nurse Program Manager, or designee, administers COVID-19 test, in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Understands and demonstrates consistent behavior in accordance with CCHS's mission by providing excellence in service with patients, families, and co-workers.


Volunteers in this capacity will support Contra Costa County’s ongoing response to COVID-19 and will work at County-sponsored COVID-19 testing sites throughout the county.

  • Operational days: Monday thru Saturday, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., evening hours may be added based on operational needs

  • Required hours: 24 to 40 hours per week​

 

Requirements for Volunteer Support Staff

  • Complete a background check and submit a TB Test (provided by Contra Costa County)  

  • Volunteers required hours: 4 to 8 hours shifts daily. 

  • Operational days: Monday thru Sunday, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., evenings might be available February - June.

Typical Tasks:

  • Assists with site set up and take down at the beginning and end of day

  • Assists with traffic monitoring

  • Assist with verification of appointment and identification

  • Assist in the delivery of supplies

  • Assist with prepping materials for clinics and vaccination sites

  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

Drive-thru outdoor clinics, Conex Box, tents or indoor facilities meeting OSHA standards.

  • Hand-sewn cloth masks (adult-sized)

  • Household grade disinfectant spray

  • Household grade disinfectant wipes

COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund

In response to the current public health crisis, Contra Costa Regional Health Foundation has launched a COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund.

 

This fund will support our region’s medical community, workforce development, food distribution and access, emergency financial assistance, and more.
